A fun Halloween!

Here are my two precious girls, Abby and Lizzy. Aren't they precious. I actually sewed something that wasn't a quilt or wool project, it was a tutu! Didn't they turned out adorable.

WAX?

Does anybody know how to get wax out of a quilt? My candle broke and spilled ontop of my cute fall quilt and I have no idea what to do? Any suggestions? Help.

Ok, these pictures are not the best, but you can see the potential. We had so much fun designing and making this advent calendar. The pattern will be available after market this weekend so look forward to that. I took some close ups of some of those tiny ornaments We are also including in the pattern, a 12 days of christmas calendar that is the same design but with only 12 ornaments. I am already listening to christmas music. Has any one else joined in my craziness?

Martha Stewart!

If any of you are Martha Stewart fans, and if you have the chance to attend a live show, do it. On Wednesday this week a couple of friends and I went to the show in NY and guess who got to ask a question to the star guest? That's right, I did. I have to say though, the pressure got to me and I totally messed up big time. If you want to see me make a fool of myself it airs on monday the 28th. it was sooooo embarassing, yet so funny I just had to tell you all. Let me know what you think after the show.

Itty Bitty Blocks

These little 4 1/2" blocks are what I have been spending my free time doing. They are cut to 1 1/2" squares but even though they are sooo small, they are soooo much more fun to sew. This is going to be a new quilt for market this year, and we will do a larger scaled version for those of you who are intimidated by their size.

Aren't they cute. I have all 35 done! Yeah!

DONUTS OR DOUGHNUTS?

Yum, Yum, Yum. . . These donuts were delicious. We had fun with all the toppings that we used, toasted coconut, chopped heath bars, and of course sprinkles. We had so much fun, you all should try to make these.

The recipe is:

2 cups milk
4 Tb. butter
1 cup mashed potatoes
Scald milk. Melt butter in milk. Add potatoes.

2 Tb. yeast
1 tea. sugar
1/3 cup water
Dissolve above ingredients together
2 tea. salt
2 eggs - beaten
2 tb. sugar
5 or more cups flour
When milk is slightly cooled and yeast is dissolved add all ingredients together. Knead well. Cover dough with a towel and let raise until doubled. (About 1 1/2 hours)

Roll out and cut. Put donuts on a floured board. Let raise again. Fry in hot oil. Glaze while warm.

Glaze:
1 pkg. powdered sugar
2 tea. vanilla
hot water
Mix together until right consistency (quite thin)

For chocolate, add quite a bit of cocoa until it tastes just right.

A random couple of days of crafting

Yesterday I spent all of my free time making these hair bows for my girls and for whoever I want to share with. I thought that they would be a lot quicker, but they are a bit time consuming. All you need is ribbon, hair clips, and fabri-tac glue and you are set. They were fun to make and now my girls will totally be more accessorized then their mother.

I decided to make a couple of these for my girls to take to church. They turned out very cute and I totally got two done during nap time. I LOVE NAP TIME. Thanks girls for cooperating today and realizing that both were tired enough to go to sleep. I love my Abs and Liz.
